This is to notify all concerned that the “Guideline on the Operation and Monitoring of Commercial Rafting, 2019” has been approved and uploaded on our website wwww.hab.org.bt from August 7, 2019.
This guideline was developed as an interim measure to facilitate effective monitoring until the river study for the development of rafting across the country is completed and Rafting Rules and Regulations are put in place.
This guideline was developed by a Multi-Sectoral Committee members comprised of officials from relevant stakeholders like Nature Conservation Division, Dept. of Forest and Park Services, MoAF, Department of Law and Order, Department of Culture, MoHCA, Dzongkhag Administration of Punakha and Paro, Department of Cottage and Small Industries, MoEA, Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators and Tourism Council of Bhutan.
The stakeholders were informed of the approval of the guideline vide letter no TCB/IPDD-02/9003 dated: June 18, 2019, and TCB/IPDD-09/9047 dated June 21, 2018, and TCB/IPDD-09/9048 dated June 21, 2018
